"Service: Very quick and quite decent though they seem busy.
Price: Price not high but the portion is huge. One dish feeds more than 2 people easily. Bring more people! - Must Try -
Spicy eggplants: Nicely sweet and spicy. Big portions. Good.
Fried rice w shrimp: They put big size shrimps. Decent. Big portion

This review is for the delivery service and food only.
This place is legit and 5-stars all the way for great Chinese (Hakka) food. Everything we ordered was an order of magnitude better than the usual Chinese delivery you get in the city. Stick with anything on the popular dishes menu and you can't go wrong. I'm pretty excited about this new find and am looking forward to dining at the restaurant next and checking it out in person :)
Favorites:
- Preserved Egg and Pork Congee
- Salt Yolk Pumpkin Strips
- Chinese Bacon and Greens
- Sticky Rice in Lotus Leaf
- House Special Pan Fried Tofu
On my to-try list next: Stuffed Chicken W/ Sticky Rice, Peking Spare Ribs, Short Ribs w/ Black Pepper and Honey Sauce, Whole Stuffed Duck -

I have not been to this place for a while.. most likely a decade time frame Hakka Restaurant is one of those chinese restaurant that serve hakkanese dishes... I was around the area sunday afternoon so i decided to stop by and grab something to go. I tried to call the restaurant and placed my order via phone only to get myself frustrated that none who picked up the phone understood what I tried to order. I was 10-15 minutes away from the restaurant so I thought it'd be perfect timing if I could have ordered in advance. Out of frustration, I had my wife to call in and place the order (in mandarin). My wife called back and said it'd be ready in 10 minutes.
When I arrived there, my order was not ready. No problem! I'd wait! During the wait, there was a lady that might have talked with me in the phone earlier as she talked to one of the waiters in cantonese and then later there was a chef coming out of the kitchen and she talked to him in mandarin... my point was I believe that there was a change of ownership since my last visit a while ago... but i did not care much as long as the foods are still good, right? So another 10 minutes wait and my order was ready...
I ordered 4 items:
a. House Special Clams
b. Pan Fried Tofu
c. Egg Foo Young Shrimp
d. Fried Frog with Salted Egg Yolk
and here is my review:
The sauce on the house special clams was too watery... Tofu tastes a little sour (i didn't get stomach ache after though) but it tastes like a spoiled tofu... Egg Foo Young was okay but it tastes better in the paste... as the last item: It should be name Fried Pumpkin with Salted Egg Yolk with few pieces of Frog... because basically that was it! You know what I meant! I was very disappointed with the quality of the food i brought home. I dunno if I ever come back but maybe I will... I would like to try their chicken stuffed dish, their lotus wrap next time and see if my conclusion will change a bit next time... as of now, my score tells me this vendor does not deserve to have my next visit... maybe next time i will try to dine in house... we'll see! -

This restaurant has the WORST customer service ever! They took forever to bring out our order and when the food came, it was all cold! The soup wasn't even warm and it tasted like water.
In order to make room for our food, we asked them to change the bigger dishes into a smaller plate. They ignored us and just stacked the plates on top of each other.
When we asked the workers to check on our food, he says "I don't know" and walked away. They didn't even follow up with us. We had to ask another work.
Overall, the food and services was terrible! I do not recommend coming here! -

The service was great and very welcoming! Looks like it is run by a family. They have lots of great traditional Chinese dishes and some unique ones that are hard to find in SF. My family and I came here on July 4th for my aunt's birthday. The service was fast and all our dishes came out pretty quickly.
We ordered the "Baked Crab with Salted Yellow Yolk", "House Special Clams", "Preserved Egg with Chinese Greens", "Honey Walnut Prawns", "Salt & Baked Chicken", "Bean Spouts with Garlic" and the "Roasted Squabs". I've been to lots of Chinese Restaurants here in SF and have ordered these dishes before. The "Honey Walnut Prawns" and "Bean Sprouts with Garlic" are usually my favorite dishes but this restaurant did not prepare any of the dishes well. All the dishes were lacking flavor and the Walnut Prawns were over coated with batter and mayo. At the end of the meal, they gave the table complimentary pumpkin soup for dessert.
This restaurant has a lot of potential because of their unique traditional dishes such as the giant "sticky rice in lotus leaf" and "stuffed chicken"(this dish must be pre-ordered which is why we didn't try it).
